A running log of discrepancies between the City of Toronto’s official overnight shelter counts and the raw SMIS data published on the Open Data portal, by date.

This page logs, night by night, the gap between the City of Toronto’s reported overnight capacity and the raw SMIS records published on the Open Data portal. Each row records the City’s official figure, our raw-data audit figure, and the variance between them — so the public can see, on a daily basis, where the system fails to meet the zero-unplaced target on nights reaching −5 °C.

Variance is the raw-data audit count minus the City’s official count; a positive value indicates the raw data shows more unplaced households than the official figure reports.
